Desk Research (Secondary)
We have a huge repository of books, market and sector reports (over 5000) in our in-house library and subscribe to many key databases with access to listed and unlisted company information. We also maintain a huge databank from our twenty years of desk as well as field research. AGR also maintains a panel of experts in addition to our own resources who provide ready insights and guidance in some projects and topics. We also have access to library of UDCT and IIT for advanced magazine referencing - for technical research.
 
Field Research (Primary)
Providing extensive value addition to the data sourced from our secondary research is our capability in conducting rigorous email, telephone and face to face interviews with respondents. Effective use of interpreters is made for interviews in non-English speaking markets. Avalon has conducted in -market face-to-face interviews in over 40 countries in Western Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.

Our combined rolodex of over 30000 cards is leveraged by our resources to initiate a call/discussion with them. We also depend on our interviewing skills to create a network of respondents, partners, agents, etc. with who we engage in meaningful discussions, proposing a win-win proposition with them.

  Avalon has offices in 3 of the 4 major metro cities of India viz. Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi. We leverage our offices to develop and maintain contacts across India. We have a network of people developed over many years whom we depend on authentic industry information. We have developed these over 20 years and by virtue of actively participating in industry forum.

We have worked with over 250 clients covering both medium and large scale companies across various sectors and geographies. Our long relationship with key executives enables easy access to them to get inputs on their companies as well as the industry.

Our Directors sit on multiple boards and committees offering us contacts with a larger pool of senior personnel whom we can tap for research or match making.

Our associations include CII, IMC, Indian Chemical Council, and FICCI which are large and respected industry associations in India. Analysis & Quality Check
Triangulation
  For effective global market research, AGR uses a dialectical approach known as ´triangulation´ wherein multiplicity of methodological tools are employed for double (or triple) checking results. Two sources complement and verify each other, leading to the same result. Triangulation helps in synthesizing data from multiple sources and strengthens interpretations using expert judgment thereby reducing the impact of potential biases than can exist in a single source of study. Triangulation has proved to be a cost effective data analysis tool especially in a changing business environment. Eg: One can cross check the sale of tyres by estimating usage of tyres in new vehicles as well as replacements in existing vehicles
Quality Assurance
  AGR has robust processes in place to ensure overall quality assurance in terms of data consistency and integrity. We have developed a process that follows the broad guidelines and stages prescribed for ISO 9001: 2000 standards but customized to meet the specific requirements of the business as well as the customer. The company has well defined team selection process and project planning and execution support measures to ensure that the project is executed as per the plan at all stages till final delivery. Our processes ensure that the review is conducted at each stage so as conform to the customer expectations at every stage and also to avoid springing of surprises later on. Our success and customer satisfaction can be largely attributed to our effective communication process wherein our clients are kept in the loop throughout the course of the project. Transparency in our approach has not only been the cornerstone of our processes but also helped reinforce confidence in the client’s mind about our delivery capability and consistency. Dimensional Analysis- AGR Proprietary Model
The Avalon model is a powerful tool based on dimensional analysis and combines the qualitative and quantitative factors to arrive at an integrated selection metric Dimensional Analysis is a scientific method which combines tangible and intangible factors to arrive at an integrated score.

The merits of dimensional analysis are as below:
  It compares both the objective and the subjective factors comprehensively giving the decision maker one integrated quantitative figure. Hence, it obviates the necessity of making two separate comparisons, one objective and another subjective and then coming up with necessarily a qualitative or subjective decision
  By taking dimensionless ratios for each factor, it can incorporate actual metrics for objective factors and at the same time use subjective ‘scores’ of factors for which the metrics cannot be determined in absolute terms
